Marián Telgarský
Deaf patient after cataract surgery

"Vision is the most valuable thing for me, thank you for the surgery and the restoration of clear sight."

The cataract surgery of Mr. Marián Telgarský was somewhat unique for us at OCP. Mr. Telgarský is deaf, so the preparation for the surgery and the procedure itself were different from what is usual for cataract surgery. He was accompanied by an interpreter, and all instructions for the surgery had to be explained to Mr. Telgarský in advance, before we covered him with the surgical drape. After that, he could see nothing and was unable to communicate with the surgeon.

He was operated on by Dr. Andrea Janeková. Mr. Telgarský underwent what is known as bilateral surgery, where one eye was operated on first, and after his approval, the second eye was subsequently operated on. During the surgery, Mr. Telgarský chose premium intraocular lenses for greater comfort in seeing without glasses for distance and intermediate vision. The lens also allows for correction of presbyopia.

After the surgery, the entire surgical team praised Mr. Telgarský for his excellent cooperation during the procedure and for following all the instructions they had agreed upon before the surgery. We sincerely thank him for his trust and very positive attitude!
