"I am glad I chose OCP. You feel that they are there for you, not the other way around."
Mr. Ladislav Beránek gave us 5 stars and a beautiful thank you on our Google profile after undergoing PRELEX surgery, freeing himself from glasses for both distance and reading.
'Normally, I don't write reviews, but this time I will make an exception. I could say - super and I recommend it, but that probably wouldn't help you much. For more than half of my life, I wore glasses, and my vision gradually worsened. I had been considering eye surgery since I was 45 years old. I eventually gave myself the surgery as a delayed gift for my 50th birthday. Over the past year, I carefully considered which of the many eye clinics I would choose. I read many similar reviews and selected the best one. In the end, I gave the most weight to the personal experience of someone who had undergone a similar surgery here.
I consider the transportation accessibility of OCP to be a significant advantage. The OCP building is located about a 5-minute walk from the Nádraží Holešovice metro station and the train station of the same name. The path to the building is covered by a vestibule the entire way. There is also a P+R parking lot right at the metro station. The complex of buildings where OCP is located has a beautiful view of the Vltava River near the new Troja Bridge. In the summer, it will be nice to relax in the park; unfortunately, I was there in December and January, so I didn't enjoy it much. The interior spaces of OCP are new, modern, and give a pleasant impression. At the reception, you handle administrative matters and go to the waiting room. It is nice, bright, but you won't enjoy it much. Within 5 minutes, they called me, and I went for the examination. I've never undergone examinations on so many devices! After a detailed examination, the nurse took me to the second waiting room, where the offices of the individual specialist doctors are located. Each time, I saw someone different, but the approach was always the same. I felt like a patient and not a problem that someone had to solve. I had many curious questions, and I received answers to all of them. I also learned that my vision had significantly worsened since the last examination, and I measured just under 8 diopters for distance and intermediate vision, and just under 2.5 for near vision. Therefore, I was considering the operation of a new intraocular lens for two distances—distance and intermediate. I received the necessary information about the surgery both orally and in writing.
Describing the surgery itself will be quite difficult. First, the surgery was performed on my weaker eye with more diopters. After dilation, numbing the eye, and taking calming pills, I went to the operating room. My face was covered during the entire procedure, and according to the instructions of the doctor—the surgeon—I listened to her voice and followed the dots above me with my eye. By the way, that voice was very calming and pleasant. Just when I thought, when will this finally start, the surgery was over, and I had a new lens in my eye. It was exactly as others described in their reviews—quick, painless, and for me, the only uncomfortable part was that I really didn't know what was happening. Three days after the first eye surgery, I went in for the second, and before that, I had a check-up for the operated eye. I won't lie, after the surgery, I could only function at home with sunglasses and drawn blinds, along with pain relief pills. During the phase when my eyes were healing and especially adapting to the light, I was sometimes scared whether the surgery had actually been successful. However, I reassured myself with information from the reviews, where others described that the improvement is indeed gradual. Today, it has been about a month and a half since the surgery, and I can see perfectly. The only thing that slightly bothers me is a slight sensitivity to intense sunlight and when driving at night, the lights of oncoming cars. So, I bought nice sunglasses and driving glasses at night with yellow-orange lenses, which I drive with comfortably. The surgery itself is not cheap, but its price is comparable to the competition. However, it was among the cheaper options. When I calculate how much I've spent on prescription glasses throughout my life, the cost of surgery is many times cheaper.
And now for the negatives! My wife always complained that after I shaved in the bathroom, I left a mess, even though I saw nothing. Now, after the surgery, I see it, and she was right! So, in conclusion, I am glad that I decided on the surgery and chose OCP. New, modern facilities, but above all, a professional and human approach. From the ladies at the reception, through all the nurses, to the doctors, you feel that they are there for you and not the other way around.'
Thank you very much; we are delighted when our patients are satisfied!
