Life without glasses is great
Our doctor, Andrea Janeková, MD, FEBO, has been elected to the board of the Czech Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgery (ČSRKCH).
This is a remarkable success! Not only is it a prestigious professional society, but Dr. Janeková, who serves as the head of the Refractive and Cataract Surgery Centre at our facility, has become one of the youngest members of the society's board since its inception.
"I am very honored by my election to the board of such a prestigious ophthalmological society and it is a privilege to work alongside prominent figures in Czech refractive and cataract surgery. I view my role on the board as a commitment and an opportunity to increase interest in membership in this significant society among young ophthalmologists and to assist them in further development and education," says Andrea Janeková, MD, FEBO, regarding her election to the board of the Czech Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgery (ČSRKCH).
The area of education for young ophthalmologists and aspiring eye surgeons has long been a goal for Dr. Janeková, which she strives to fulfill and implement both within Eye Centre Prague (OCP) and on an international level.
At Eye Centre Prague, there is shared responsibility for the education of aspiring young doctors through graduate programs and its own academy, which trains them in both theoretical and practical aspects.
At the beginning of this year, Eye Centre Prague received the highest level of accreditation from the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, becoming an accredited facility of Type III for the field of ophthalmology. Based on this accreditation, Eye Centre Prague can currently conduct its own specialized training for the specialization in ophthalmology and also provides professional internships for other healthcare facilities, including regional and university hospitals.
Andrea Janeková, MD, FEBO, also serves as an expert instructor at the Cataract Refractive School, where she shares her knowledge and experience with younger colleagues in the field who are just starting out in ocular microsurgery. She works as an instructor in the experimental training laboratory, where course participants learn to perform surgeries.
Dr. Janeková has also become an instructor for teaching ocular microsurgery with the Austrian company MTS - Wetlab Company.
About a month ago, she served as an expert instructor at the 11th Balkan Eye Wetlab Course held in Sofia, Bulgaria. She was one of four expert instructors in the course focused on cataract surgery. A total of 50 participants from 12 different countries, mainly from the Balkans, attended this course.
