Port7, a new project by Skanska, will be introduced to the public for the first time at the prestigious Open House Prague festival. One of the largest architectural celebrations in the country will take place on May 20-21, 2023. During this weekend, more than 100 architectural gems across Prague will open their doors to visitors. Skanska and its partners Scott.Weber Workplaces, Eye Centre Prague, and DAM.architekti will also participate in this community event.

The ninth edition of Open House Prague will offer a unique opportunity to explore more than 100 normally inaccessible buildings in the capital of the Czech Republic. For Port7, a new project by Skanska completed in early April, the festival is an opportunity to present itself to the public for the very first time.

“The story of the Port7 project begins with the revitalization of an old industrial area, transforming it into a vibrant part of Prague 7. In collaboration with the renowned architectural studio DAM.architekti, we paid great attention to its urban and architectural conception. As a result, Port7 connects modern design with a reflection of the industrial history of the site. We are proud of how we have transformed this brownfield, and we are delighted to showcase it not only to our tenants but also to the local community and architecture enthusiasts,” says Jana Prokopová, Director of Leasing and Management of Commercial Assets at Skanska's Commercial Development unit in the Czech Republic.

“Our aim was to utilize the potential of the site, which hides the area of the former concrete prefabrication plant, and create a space of new quality for its visitors with versatile uses. The Port7 complex will include offices, a bank, an eye clinic, fitness facilities, as well as shops, restaurants, and a relaxation area in the form of a wellness center, complemented by residential and recreational green spaces of the newly created Holešovice waterfront,” adds Jiří Havrda, Chief Architect of the Port7 project and Partner at DAM.architekti.

On both festival days, Port7 will be open from 10 AM to 6 PM. Guided tours led by Skanska volunteers will last approximately 30 minutes, starting at Entrance 1 of the Edinburgh building, near the new underpass to the railway and metro station.

Tour route of the Port7 Project

During the Open House Prague festival, visitors will have a unique opportunity to enter the private spaces of Scott.Weber Workplaces and Eye Centre Prague, and enjoy a view of the entire project, the Vltava River, and the opposite Troja hills from one of the rooftop terraces. We believe this will enchant all participants and leave an unforgettable impression.

“This event allows us to showcase our commitment to creating inspiring and flexible work environments. We look forward to showing off our rooftop terraces with exceptional views of the Vltava, Troja, and Vítkov. Visitors will be able to walk through our interiors designed in line with the port theme and enriched with creative elements,” says Ondřej Hubatka, Head of Marketing at Scott.Weber Workspace.

“We are participating as one of the first tenants of Port7. We would like to show the event participants our new modern spaces tailored to our eye clinic, which offers a contemporary environment for quality and modern eye care. ‘Seeing Clearly’ is the motto for our entire space. Light and its refraction through crystals are the central ideas behind the clinic’s interior design, which visitors will be able to explore during the event,” says Adam Janek, Director of Eye Centre Prague.

Piazzetta Port7 and Promenade by the Vltava

After touring the Edinburgh building, visitors can take a stroll along the newly renovated promenade by the Vltava River, explore the improved waterfront area, and walk through the newly created park with young trees, grass, and wooden benches, which provides an ideal environment for relaxation and socializing with friends.

During the festival, refreshments and non-alcoholic drinks will be available at Piazzetta Port7.

About the Port7 Project

Port7 is the latest multifunctional project by Skanska, located in Prague 7 between the Nádraží Holešovice metro station and the Vltava River. The project offers 36,000 m² of premium commercial space across three office buildings. Currently, 50% of the offices and 90% of the retail spaces are occupied. Port7 has been designed and constructed in accordance with the highest international environmental protection and interior quality standards, aiming to obtain LEED, WELL, and WELL Health & Safety Rating certifications. An integral part of the Port7 project is a new public park covering 1.7 hectares, along with the Náplavka 2.0 promenade. It provides tenants and local residents with space for sports, relaxation, and social gatherings.
