Equipment
Eye Centre Prague is equipped with all the ophthalmic devices necessary for modern diagnosis of eye diseases and their surgical and laser treatment. We continuously strive to improve and seek new areas of care for our patients, which is why we regularly invest in new modern technologies.
Centurion
For cataract surgeries and intraocular refractive surgeries, we are the first private eye center in the Czech Republic to use the new 'SAFE VISION SYSTEM' technology. This is a module in the new phacoemulsification device CENTURION from ALCON.
Optovue OCT / Optovue OCT angiography AngioView
At Eye Centre Prague, we have two OCT devices (optical coherence tomography). Using a special scanning device, we can detail the histological structure of the retina.
- Standard OCT device: 'Optovue OCT'
- Angiographic OCT device: This is a third-generation optical coherence tomography device 'Optovue OCT Angiography AngioView,' which is among the most accurate and fastest in its category. OCT angiography not only displays the condition of individual layers of the retina but also assesses the functionality of all its structures.
Retinal laser
At Eye Centre Prague, we use the latest retinal laser, Integre Pro Scan YELLOW – a template photocoagulation laser. In ophthalmological slang, this is referred to as the 'yellow laser,' which is much gentler on the structures of the eye compared to standard 'green lasers' and can treat conditions that are too risky for other types of lasers. The procedure using the yellow laser is highly individualized, with the option to adjust the laser template for the most precise performance.
In the Czech Republic, this gentle type of laser is unique due to its high acquisition cost.
Laser Tango reflex
A new addition for 2019 is the TANGO REFLEX laser device from the manufacturer ELLEX, which encompasses three laser treatment options – YAG laser capsulotomy (removal of secondary cataracts), laser reduction of intraocular pressure, and treatment of vitreous opacities (known as vitreolysis).
In the Czech Republic, aside from Eye Centre Prague, this laser device with a triple combination is currently only available at the Central Military Hospital in Prague.
LCD Optotypes
High-quality and modern LCD optotypes are used to determine the quality of visual acuity.
