The new generation of intraocular lenses, Clareon™ Vivity™ – for the first time at our clinic!

We are delighted to announce that Eye Centre Prague is the first clinic in the CSEE region (Central and Southeastern Europe, covering 18 countries!) to implant the new Clareon™ Vivity™ intraocular lens by Alcon.

This important milestone confirms our long-standing commitment to bringing patients the most advanced, world-class methods and technologies.

The surgery was led by Andrea Janeková, MD, FEBO, FEBOS-CR, Head Surgeon of the Cataract, Refractive, and Vitreoretinal Surgery Centre. Her first patient to receive the Clareon™ Vivity™ lens was a 72-year-old man who underwent bilateral surgery – meaning both eyes were operated on in a single day. The first results at the post-operative check-up were excellent, and the patient expressed his satisfaction at the very first follow-up visit.

Clareon™ Vivity™ is a new-generation intraocular lens with Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF), designed for patients with cataracts and presbyopia. Thanks to its advanced technology, it enables sharp vision at far, intermediate, and what is known as functional near distances.
